Tech Talent consulting Group LTD

Bringing Structure, Clarity & Control to a Multi-Entity Recruitment Business

When I first met Matthew and Don in December 2024, their business was growing, but their finance function wasn’t keeping pace.

Tech Talent Consulting Group operates across three entities in the UK, USA and India. As experienced recruitment professionals, Matthew and Don had built an impressive international operation. However, accounting and compliance across multiple jurisdictions had become a source of stress rather than support.

They weren’t looking for just another Accountant.

They needed a finance partner who could:

  • Take ownership of all three entities

  • Bring structure and visibility to their numbers

  • Improve reporting for strategic decision-making

  • Resolve ongoing US payroll issues

  • Protect cash flow in a contractor-heavy environment

The foundations were strong. The business had been built well. But the finance function needed alignment, control, and proactive oversight.

The Real Risk: Cash Flow in Contractor Recruitment

In a contractor recruitment business, cash flow quite literally holds up the ship.

If a purchase order isn’t approved on time, the invoice cannot be raised.
If the invoice isn’t raised, payment isn’t received.

If payment isn’t received by Monday, contractors don’t get paid.

And when contractors don’t get paid, nobody is happy, not the contractor, not the client, and certainly not the founders.

For Matthew and Don, organised and effective bookkeeping wasn’t just about compliance or ticking boxes. It directly impacted:

  • Contractor trust

  • Client relationships

  • Reputation

  • Operational stability

Put simply, clean financial processes kept the business afloat.

The Challenge

There were three key areas to address:

1. Limited Visibility Across Entities
Operating in the UK, USA and India created complexity. Reporting lacked consistency and real-time clarity, making it difficult to confidently assess performance across all three entities.

2. Inefficient Invoicing & Reporting Structure
Recruitment is fast-moving. The finance function needs to match that pace. Invoicing processes needed tightening, revenue tracking needed refinement, and reporting needed to become decision-focused rather than reactive.

3. US W2 Payroll for 30 Contractors
The most critical issue was bi-weekly W2 payroll in the United States, covering 30 contractors.

The previous supplier had processed payroll incorrectly, creating reconciliation issues and compliance risks. In a contractor-led business, payroll accuracy is non-negotiable. Errors erode trust immediately.

The Approach
Full QuickBooks Implementation & Optimisation

We implemented and standardised QuickBooks across the UK and US entities, restructuring the chart of accounts to reflect operational reality.

This enabled:

  • Clear revenue tracking by client and contractor

  • Structured cost visibility

  • Stronger cash flow forecasting

  • Entity-level and group-level reporting

  • Real-time financial insight for leadership

Matthew and Don now have clarity across all three jurisdictions, allowing them to make confident, data-driven decisions.

Payroll Reconciliation & Process Redesign

For the 30 US W2 contractors, we conducted a full historical reconciliation to correct prior inaccuracies. From there, we:

  • Rebuilt the payroll workflow

  • Implemented structured approval processes

  • Introduced reconciliation controls

  • Ensured accurate bi-weekly processing

  • Reduced compliance exposure

The outcome was simple but powerful: contractors paid accurately and on time, every time.

Peace of mind. â€‹

we took full ownership of all finance and accounting-related communication across the business. This included managing payroll queries, invoicing, reconciliations, and any financial correspondence with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. By centralising these responsibilities, Don was able to stay focused on growth, client delivery, and strategic priorities, without being drawn into the day-to-day operational demands of the finance function.

The Outcome

  • Financial visibility across three international entities

  • Structured invoicing processes supporting reliable cash flow

  • Accurate, compliant W2 payroll for 30 contractors

  • Reduced founder stress

  • A finance function that supports operational stability and growth

Matthew and Don can now focus on scaling their recruitment operations with confidence, knowing that the financial backbone of the business is structured, accurate, and dependable.
